Event Description for Calendar:Born in Vancouver and now based in New York, Ingrid Jensen is easily recognized as one of the leading contemporary jazz trumpeters in the world. Her performances as a leader and as a featured soloist have taken her around the globe from Canada to Japan, Australia, South America, South Africa, the Caribbean and to almost every country in Europe and Scandinavia.
Jensen can be heard with the Grammy-winning Maria Schneider orchestra, the IJQ with Geoffrey Keezer, Project O, Nordic Connect and a number of New York-based bands. Jensen continues to fill her schedule with an astonishing array of artistic creativity as a performer and educator. In addition to performing, she conducts master
classes, clinics and workshops. We are delighted to have Ingrid as the jazz headliner for the 2013 Trumpet Festival of the Southeast.
