Event Description for Calendar:General Larry Ellis served as Commanding General, U.S. Army Forces Command, retiring as a four-star general on May 7, 2004. His distinguised military career spanned more than 35 years. In various roles, he was responsible for training, mobilizing, and deploying combat-ready forces to worldwide crises; planning and providing military support to civil authorities for natural disasters and civil emergencies; devising the Army's initial response to the September 11 attacks; and leading the deployment of Army forces to combat the war on terror in Afghanistan. General Ellis earned more than 20 distinguished medals and awards during his career.
General Ellis will discuss his military command in the United States, as well as his command assignments in Vietnam, Germany, the Republic of Korea, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
